Want to Court a Duggar Daughter? You'll Have to Get Through Their Brothers First

Man, as if courting for a Duggar weren't hard enough already! On Tuesday night's episode of Jill and Jessa: Counting On, the subject of a potential courtship for Joy-Anna Duggar came up, and this girl's brothers got all sorts of protective over her.

Eighteen-year-old Joy-Anna is the only girl in the middle of eight boys raised by Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, and for most of her life, she's fit right in with her tomboy side. But now that she's growing, she's starting to get more interested in girly things -- like romance and eventually finding Mr. Right.

It doesn't seem like it's going to be an easy task, though, if her brothers have anything to say about it. During the episode, Jinger Duggar let it drop that men have "expressed some interest" in Joy, which prompted producers to ask her three closest brothers what they would do if a guy wanted to court her. Take a look at the video below to watch the Duggar brothers go into possessive mode.

"For me, he would almost have to be a perfect guy," admitted Jedidiah, 17. "And he would go through a lot of testing!"

"I think if guys come around, they're going to have to get through a few guys -- [I'm] talking about me and [my brother] Joseph," added 19-year-old Josiah.

Joseph, 21, agreed wholeheartedly. He said, "If a guy shows up to court Joy, there will definitely be a lot of us standing back a little bit, kind of checking him out."

For her part, Joy kept it pretty demure. She simply smiled and raised an eyebrow when asked if she could see herself in a courtship soon. I have a feeling that when she does decide to take a shine to someone, she'll be able to handle her overprotective brothers just fine.
