Kourtney Kardashian's Healthy Morning Habit Is All Sorts of Gross

Celeb certainly do some bizarre things in the name of staying in shape, but this one takes the cake. Or it takes the butter out of the cake. And then melts said butter, and drinks it. Um, yeah. Kourtney Kardashian shared that she drinks melted ghee -- super-clarified butter -- every morning, and we're pretty much grossed out.

Don't get me wrong, ghee is delicious on toast, over pasta, or on fish or steamed veggies. But straight-up melted? First thing in the morning? Yuck!

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star revealed on her blog that she drinks ghee for her health. She explained that it's "rich in oil-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K, as well as K2 and CLA (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) antioxidants," and that it's a "healthy fat, like coconut oil."

Apparently, the healthy fats are "absorbed directly into the liver and burnt as energy," which sounds wonderful, but only when you don't have to think about drinking straight butter.

Kourt described her morning routine in detail, just in case any fans out there would like to emulate it.

I take one big teaspoon of ghee every morning and melt it on the stove in a pan and drink it out of a cute little ceramic white cup. After I take it, I don't eat anything for 20 minutes, and then I drink a glass of water before eating food. In my kitchen, I only cook with ghee and coconut oil and try to incorporate it into my meals as much as possible. We make French toast, grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, basically anything we can with ghee.

With her teeny-tiny frame, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that the mom of three doesn't indulge very often in quesadillas and grilled cheese sandwiches, but I'm sure her kids appreciate the gourmet touch of using ghee in the kitchen instead of plain old butter.

What they may not appreciate, however, is their mom's confession that she sometimes will "sneak half a teaspoon of melted ghee into my kids' warm milk because I believe in it so much."

Repeat after me, Mason, Penelope, and Reign -- parents are weird. Especially famous ones.
