Kris Jenner May Be Responsible for Kim Kardashian's Infamous Sex Tape

kris jennerSomething's rotten in the state of Calabasas. In a sensational new book, Kardashian Dynasty, writer Ian Halperin claims that Kris Jenner leaked Kim Kardashian's sex tape in 2007. Many people of course have always had their suspicions about how Kim's sex tape with Ray J became public consumption, but this book goes into some unsettling detail about how it happened.

A source told Halperin, "A mutual friend of Kim and Paris [Hilton] had advised her that if she wanted to achieve fame, a sex tape would be the way to go … Kim had discussed the idea of producing a tape with her family beforehand." Another insider told Halperin, "It was Kris who engineered the deal behind the scenes and was responsible for the tape seeing the light of day."

Halperin also apparently went undercover as someone with a celebrity sex tape to sell and was told by a Vivid exec, "When it comes to . . . selling a sex tape, both parties need to sign off." When asked about how the company got a hold of Kim's tape, the exec reportedly replied: "A third party brought it to Vivid … [We] got in touch with the Kardashian family." Say what?!

Again, most people don't think that Kim's sex-tape leak was exactly an accident. Time and again, the family has been accused of intentionally selling the tape in order to obtain wealth and popularity. Hearing -- in detail -- that Kris was the one to broker the deal is pretty disturbing.

Of course, we'll never know whether this is true or not, but it certainly doesn't help extinguish any rumors claiming Kim's tape was leaked on purpose. At this point, it's something the family will never escape.

Let's all give Kris the benefit of the doubt here and assume that despite the fact that she loves money and fame, she didn't do this. Because, dude. That would be seriously gross and creepy.
