15 Celebrity Couples Who Were Set Up by Other Stars

Good friends can always rely on one another to play matchmaker whenever a potential romance arises between friends. And as it turns out, even celebrities turn to their pals for blind dates. The result: Some of the most adorable star couples are the result of celebrities getting set up by their equally famous friends. Just look at Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, who were set up by Anne Hathaway.

    It’s no surprise that romantic crooner Ed Sheeran set up his close friend Courteney Cox with his former housemate, Snow Patrol musician Johnny McDaid, in 2013. The pair was so grateful for the match that Sheeran was even slated to officiate their wedding. Unfortunately, Cox and McDaid reportedly split because they could not come to a compromise on living in Los Angeles or the UK.

    One of the most admired couples in the music biz is the result of one British songstress. Ellie Goulding played matchmaker for Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris, who have been dating since 2015. Goulding told The Sun she coupled them up, saying, “I did play matchmaker, that’s true. Calvin is a really great mate and he’s so fantastic, and Taylor is such a cool person who I love. I thought, ‘They’re both really awesome and both really tall, they’ll be brilliant together.’”

"I always wanted to find him the right girl. At the time, Kat was in a relationship, so I couldn't. Then they happened to both be single for once at the same time,” Behrs told People. The couple made their relationship public in October 2014.
