Kate Middleton May Be About to Lose Her Royal Staff

Uh-oh. It looks like some of the royal staff at Kensington Palace are threatening to go on strike. What could make someone who works at Prince William and Kate Middleton's home want to quit? Pay cuts, of course.

There's a proposed pay cut for some of the staff at Kensington Palace, which could cause some employees to lose up to $5,000 a year if affected. The charity that manages the salaries believes that it's the best way to keep on top of the financials.

However, it doesn't seem as though workers close to the royal family have any plans to walk out. Former staff members reportedly claim that you don't work for the royals for the money. Also, the Today show reported that the inner circle of employees will be affected by the cuts anyway.

Most of the people who will potentially receive cuts are those who work in ticket offices, those who show visitors the grounds, or those who look after the exhibits. Even then, an official from the Historic Royal Palaces told Metro UK in a statement, "We have given a year's notice of the planned changes and are currently in discussions with the Public and Commercial Services Union."

Well, a year's notice on a budget cut is more than a lot of us could ask for, so let's hope that they work something out. It would suck to have to give up a job working for the royal family because of budget issues.
