Kate Middleton Shares Her Hopes for Prince George & Princess Charlotte

How very un-British. In a recent blog post launching the Young Minds Matter, a new initiative researching the causes and treatment of children's mental health issues, Kate Middleton said she will encourage her children to express their feelings. "We hope to encourage George and Charlotte to speak about their feelings, and to give them the tools and sensitivity to be supportive peers to their friends as they get older," the duchess penned in a post for the Huffington Post UK.

The subject of children's mental heath is an issue very close to the duchess's heart. Since her wedding in 2011, she has supported numerous charities that aim to help young people deal with addiction and family breakdown. On Wednesday, the princess announced that she plans on taking her support a step further by becoming a patron of the Anna Freud Centre, a mental health charity she visited in December.

In her blog post, Kate also admit that she and Prince William wouldn't hesitate for a second to get help if either of their kids were suffering mentally. Good for her.

The fact that Kate is supporting charities like this is a good sign for her family. Of course, nothing can guarantee that a person won't suffer from mental illness, but at least George and Charlotte will know the importance of talking about their feelings and expressing themselves -- and Kate and William will know exactly where to turn to, should they need help.

Way to set an example, Kate. And way to use your power for issues that everyone -- even the Brits -- need to talk about.
