14 Dresses From the 2016 Grammy Awards That Seriously Slayed (PHOTOS)

One thing you can always count on when watching the Grammy Awards is the fact that it's one of the most unpredictable catwalks of awards season. This year it felt like most of the stars played it relatively safe and we never got our Nicki Minaj 2012 moment where she showed up in a red robe with some dude dressed like the pope. Regardless, a lot of the dresses were drop-dead gorgeous.

Here are some of this year's favorites.

Ariana Grande wore a cherry red corset dress that fluted out into a beautiful red train.

  • Ellie Goulding in Stella McCartney

This pastel pink dress was so stunningly simple from the front, but from the back cascades of glittering draped chains adorned this amazing gown.

Zendaya continues to reach fashion icon status by donning this sexy menswear suit and showing up in a bleached mullet. I think she looks ahhhhhhhhmazing.

  • Chrissy Teigen in Yousef Al-Jasmi

It's such a cliché to say a pregnant woman is glowing, but Chrissy totally is. This couture maxi dress with glittery cape totally shows off her baby bump gorgeously.

  • Andra Day in Michael Costello

I can forgive her strange white slippers because her performance duet with Ellie Goulding was just flawless. I also love how Day has such a cute retro look and she isn't afraid to take fashion risks.

  • Taylor Swift in Versace

Even though the bandage top isn't the most flattering, the colors look gorgeous on her, and hell, she won for Best Album beating out Kendrick Lamar so she should be happy.

  • Adele in Givenchy Couture

What is there to say? Adele can do no wrong ever. EVER.

  • Florence Welch in Gucci

This '70s style dress suits Welch so perfectly I'm going to guess that Gucci made it specifically for her.

  • Lady Gaga in Marc Jacobs

I cannot discuss Gaga's couture Marc Jacobs gown because I'm still amazingly disappointed in her Bowie tribute which was like a high school musical directed by Liza Minelli where she told all the kids to mock Bowie but with more jazz hands.

  • Meghan Trainor in Galia Lahav

Meghan showed off her short new auburn locks, and her adorable dad was her date to the Grammys.

  • Brittany Howard in a designer unknown

Brittany Howard looked fierce as usual, and as usual we don't get to know who designed her dress because she is a size larger than ZERO. But she rocked a deep purple lip, and Alabama Shakes's "Don't Wanna Fight" won Grammys for best rock song and rock performance.

  • Selena Gomez in Calvin Klein

Taylor's bestie looked gorgeous in a midnight blue, cut-out midriff gown.

  • Demi Lovato in Norisol Ferrari

This was Lovato's first time attending the Grammy awards, and she performed Lionel Richie's iconic "Hello" and she killed it.

  • Ciara in Alexandre Vauthier

Ciara looked crazy, and I mean crazy in the best way possible. Her dress left nothing to the imagination, but if you look like Ciara does, who can blame you for dressing like this?
