Kate Middleton & Prince William Enjoy a Rare Date Night Away From the Kids

Proving they really are just like us, Kate Middleton and Prince William snuck out for a rare date night without Prince George and Princess Charlotte this week. Like the rest of us with small children, the royal couple isn't spotted out on their own frequently -- which makes their cozy dinner extra sweet.

According to People, Kate and William didn't travel too far from home, heading instead to a nearby pub just six miles from their home, Anmer Hall. At the Crown Inn, the couple feasted on pan-roasted halibut and wild mushroom risotto (which is making us all sorts of hungry for dinner).

Despite dining at a pub, Kate reportedly kept her meal alcohol-free, only drinking sparkling water, while Prince William ordered a glass of wine (our kind of guy).

Considering how busy their work schedules are, it can't be easy to find time to escape the house together, but we love that they made this time for each other. An early Valentine's Day dinner, perhaps? It's also endearing that they chose to hit a pub instead of some fancy-schmancy restaurant that you'd expect the royal family to frequent.

We imagine that Kate and Wills typically enjoy each other's company with Netflix & Chill nights at home, far away from the prying eyes of the public. Either that or they pass out at 9 p.m. after putting the kids to bed like the rest of us do.
