10 Heartthrobs From the '90s Who Fell Off the Hollywood Radar (PHOTOS)

It's hard to believe, but the sex symbols we lusted over in the 1990s are now middle-aged dudes. And while some of these former hotties have gone on to illustrious careers in TV and movies, others have seemingly given up acting altogether.

Click through to find out which of your favorite '90s hunks have hung up their heartthrob status for good...

1Freddie Prinze, Jr.

If you were a fan of teen flicks in the late '90s/early '00s, you know exactly who Freddie Prinze, Jr. is! He was the hunky yet sensitive male lead in romantic comedies like She's All That, Summer Catch, and Head Over Heels. These days, however, the 39-year-old has seemingly retired from on-camera work, preferring to spend his time voice acting and with his wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and their two kids.

2Jonathan Taylor Thomas

Aside from Leonardo DiCaprio (who we hear is still doing okay for himself), there may not have been an actor in the 1990s who appeared on more teen magazine covers than Jonathan Taylor Thomas did. As a major teen heartthrob, JTT, as we called him, parlayed his success on the sitcom Home Improvement into starring roles in movies like I'll Be Home for Christmas and Wild America. Sadly, his teenage stardom didn't translate into adulthood, and the 34-year-old's last acting role was on former costar Tim Allen's TV show Last Man Standing

3Jason Behr

Back in the day, we would have gladly let Jason Behr's hot teenage alien character on Roswell abduct us. However, while Roswell costar Katherine Heigl went on to A-list status after the series ended, Jason's career sadly didn't take off. His last acting gig was in 2012 on a show called Breakout Kings.

4Andrew Shue

Thankfully for us, when former Melrose Place hunk Andrew Shue retired from acting, he transitioned to a successful career in business, cofounding the nonprofit organization Do Something as well as our very own CafeMom! His last acting credit was the 2007 film Gracie.

5David Charvet

French actor David Charvet first came to our attention as one of the lifeguards with an impressive set of six-pack abs on Baywatch and later as an often shirtless ad exec on Melrose Place. The 43-year-old ended up quitting acting shortly thereafter to purse a music career and hasn't appeared on screen since 2013.

6Zachery Ty Bryan

While others may have fawned over JTT, we had a serious crush on the oldest Home Improvement son, Zachery Ty Bryan. Alas, the 34-year-old now works behind the scenes as a film producer and says he doesn't miss acting at all!

7Erik von Detten

He still has perfect hair, but Erik von Detten, who stole girls' hearts as the title character in the 1998 Disney Channel movie Brink!, has seemingly given up on Hollywood. His last acting job was a voice role in 2010's Toy Story 3.

8Brian Austin Green

We first started crushing on Brian Austin Green during his 10-year run as David on Beverly Hills, 90210. Post-90210, the 42-year-old actor worked on and off but remained in the press, thanks to his marriage to actress Megan Fox. Alas, the couple split in April 2015, and Brian seems to have taken a break from his career as well. His last acting credit was in 2014 on the Charlie Sheen show Anger Management.

9Nate Richert

"You'll never believe what Harvey looks like now..." Nate Richert tweeted with the accompanying photo. The 37-year-old is best known for playing the dreamy high school love interest of Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the '90s but gave up acting soon after that.

10Jeremy Jackson

Baywatch star Jeremy Jackson was only 11 years old when he joined the cast of the infamous red bathing suit show as Hobie, the son of David Hasselhoff's character. In the eight years that followed, fans watched him transform from a cute young boy into a hunky teen. However, after struggling with drug addiction, he left the show and resumed acting only when he reportedly got sober in 2000. And while he's worked on and off since then, his last credit was in 2013 in a film called Dreams.
