Backless Dress Shows Off Ariel Winter's Breast Reduction Scars -- Gasp!

You go, girl! Modern Family star Ariel Winter showed off some side-boob in a gorgeous dress at the SAG Awards over the weekend, but for some reason, all anyone seemed to care about were her visible breast reduction scars. You know, because that's apparently worth critiquing.

The 18-year-old famously had a breast reduction in the summer of 2015, taking her bra size from a 32F to a 34D. She apparently got some flack for choosing a strapless, backless dress, because it showed some minimal scarring while she walked the red carpet and posed for photographs.

But she's not letting the haters get her down -- and she's offering encouragement to everyone to embrace their bodies, scars and all. She took to Twitter the day after the awards to explain that she didn't have a wardrobe malfunction, but had made the decision on purpose.

She also thanked her fans and supporters for their positive responses.

She continued to spread her message of body positivity into the week, posting an inspirational message to Instagram on Tuesday. She shared a quote from designer Marc Jacobs about the beauty of imperfection, and added the caption, "Embrace all that you are... Scars & everything. Your imperfections make you perfectly you #loveyourself"

How cool is this girl? While a lot of 18-year-olds -- especially those in Hollywood -- are obsessed with maintaining a perfect, photoshopped image at all times, Ariel just goes with the flow and embraces it all.

After all, she's never been shy about her breast reduction. She shared with People magazine recently, "I think it will be the only [cosmetic surgery] I'll have done, but I'm extremely happy with the decision I made ... It's important to talk about it because there are young girls suffering like I did, but there shouldn't be a stigma about it."

Dang straight! And no better way to destigmatize it than to show off a scar with a little side-boob.
