When it comes to saying “I do,” some celebrities are actually saying “I do after saying I wouldn’t.” These stars vowed never to get married or remarried -- until their hearts were stolen by love. Who can deny those tugs of the heart?

    "Famous last words: 'I'll never get married,'" Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine once quipped about his former stance, after proposing to Behati Prinsloo. Levine and the Victoria's Secret model got engaged in 2013 and married the following year. "I still don't necessarily think you have to get married unless you meet someone that makes you want to marry them," he said. "And then you marry them and it's wonderful."

    After his failed marriage to Scarlett Johansson, Ryan Reynolds threw in the towel on the institution. "I don't want to get married again," he said in a 2011 interview. By September 9, 2012, Reynolds married Blake Lively and they now have one daughter, James, together.

A deeply scarred Johansson and vowed never to exchange vows with anyone again. But in 2014 she secretly married journalist Romain Dauriac and said she knew what she wanted out of love this time around

    TV personality and actress Jenny McCarthy had to find self-love before she could commit to someone else and thought she'd likely never be ready to get hitched. "If I didn't love myself ... I would never have been ready to be married. You can't expect the bar to get raised by your partner. You have to raise it first and then you'll attract everything."

The pair got married in a hush hush ceremony in 2015 and are now the happy parents to daughter Wyatt Isabelle.

    After pal Nicole Ritchie stepped in to play matchmaker by introducing Cameron Diaz to her brother-in-law Benji Madden, the Bad Teacher actress changed her mind about marriage. Diaz said she wasn't rushing down the aisle and didn't even know if she ever wanted to get hitched because she refused to settle. "Now I got the best man ever," she said during her wedding speech in 2015. "My special man. He's mine."
