Amy Duggar Thinks There's Hope for Anna & Josh Duggar's Marriage

Given her outspokenness over her cousin Josh's sex scandal, I'm sort of surprised to hear Amy (Duggar) King's latest thoughts on marriage. According to the former 19 Kids and Counting star, she believes that God can work miracles and restore any marriage.

Dillon King's wife updated her blog and shared that the newlyweds are participating in a 21-day fast as part of a challenge from their church. They've chosen to give up TV and spend that time working on their marriage instead.

Side note: Amy also vowed to give up sweets, but that might have more to do with bikini season coming up than spiritual growth. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course.

She also wrote about infidelity and divorce, and how she and Dillon work to guard their marriage from dissolving. So what happens if a marriage does get to the breaking point? Amy shared:

I believe in miracles, I believe God can heal any relationship, and bring it back to a healthy loving union. I believe God can restore families. Jesus is in the restoring business!

I can't help but wonder if she's alluding to Josh and Anna Duggar's marriage. After he was exposed in the Ashley Madison hack, he confessed to being unfaithful to his wife and the mother of his four children, and checked himself into a long-term rehab center.

Anna confessed on Jill and Jessa: Counting On in December that she's praying for God to restore her marriage, and it looks like Amy's on board with it. I agree that God can and does work miracles, but it's going to take a lot of work, change, and forgiveness for Josh and Anna to rebuild that trust.

I just hope that Anna realizes that she's under no obligation to stay with Josh. He completely betrayed her, and unless he can show that he's made a total transformation, she's free to go. I think it's more important for God to heal and restore her soul to a whole and healthy place than to restore their marriage for the sake of the institution.
