The year 2015 was nothing if not the year of Amy Schumer! This brilliantly funny, super talented, and totally unashamed woman has been breaking down barriers all year, while simultaneously raising the bar.

There are so many awesome and funny Amy Schumer moments to choose from this year, but these are the ones where she really made an impact as a woman, using her voice and her fame to make a difference -- or at the very least, to shed light on the realities of the world. And we love her for it!

1. When she tapped into what so many of us feel all the time, and shared this incredible, nearly nude photo of herself, captioning it, "Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman."

2. When she released this hilarious -- but scarily insightful -- "Republican-Approved Birth Control Ad"... and totally nailed America's problem with reproductive health care.

SPOT. ON.

3. When she stood up for gun control.

Shortly after the awful shooting in a Lafayette movie theater during a showing of Trainwreck, Amy joined up with her cousin, Senator Chuck Shumer of New York, to advocate for smarter gun control laws. The pair made an appearance on the steps of New York City Hall, calling for legislation that would expand background checks (and close a loophole that lets people buy guns at gun shows without background checks!).

Earlier that same week, Amy tweeted that her  HBO comedy special was dedicated to her niece and Mayci Breaux and Jillian Johnson, the victims of the Lafayette shooting.

4. And then when she went ahead and appeared in this scathing Saturday Night Live gun control PSA:

5. When she gave this hilarious and powerful speech at Elle's Women in Hollywood Awards. She made a ton of jokes (so many of them self-deprecating), but she also shared, with deep honesty, her insecurity about putting herself out there in Hollywood. And her thoughts about feminism, and the importance of being supportive of our fellow women.

"I want women to lift each [other] up, get more and more powerful and understand their worth," she said.

6. Three words: Last. F*ckable. Day.

In this brilliantly funny sketch from Inside Amy Schumer, some pretty rad ladies join our girl in a send-up of the sad truth about Hollywood.

7. When she won the Trailblazer of the Year title at the 2015 Glamour Women of the Year Awards, and gave this awesome, unapologetic speech, resulting in one of her most famous quotes of the year: "I'm 160 pounds and I can catch a d**k whenever I want!"

8. When she devoted an entire episode of Inside Amy Schumer to a parody of the film 12 Angry Men. In this version, twelve men debate whether or not Amy Schumer is "hot enough" to be on TV. As USA Today puts it, "The brilliantly conceived episode is a bold indictment of Hollywood’s unrealistic standards for women, and a big middle finger to anyone who thinks Schumer should be confined to a stand-up stage because she doesn’t look like Megan Fox or Kate Upton ..."

9. When Amy Schumer was every woman whose ever felt ashamed or bad about her body, in this moment she teared up during an interview on The Today Show.

"It's an emotional thing," she told Maria Shriver, talking about body image and confidence. "It's been a struggle for me my whole life, and especially just being in the entertainment industry. Standing on a stage in front of people, I can't perform my best or be confident if I'm not sure — if I'm pulling at something [I'm wearing]. And sometimes I would just want to throw in the towel and be like, 'I'm not gonna go do stand-up tonight.'"

Then she went on to explain how much it meant to her to start working with the Trainwreck stylist Leesa Evans ... and why Amy has now teamed up with Goodwill of Southern California "to educate and inspire women through fashion."

Could this woman BE ANY MORE AMAZING? We can't wait to see what Amy gets up to next!
