18 Celebrity Scandals That Left Fans Speechless in 2015 (PHOTOS)

This past year was full of exciting entertainment news, but it was not without its share of star-packed controversies, some of which completely altered how we view some of our favorite stars. While some celebrities weathered their 2015 scandals just fine, others were not so lucky, and they had to face the consequences of their actions.

  • Jared Fogle

    For 15 years, Fogle was one of the most famous spokespeople for weight loss, earning the nickname "Subway Guy" after losing significant weight by eating at the sandwich chain. This year, Fogle was sentenced to 15 years in prison for having sex with minors and child pornography.

    The eldest child of 19 Kids And Counting fame, Josh Duggar confessed to cheating on his wife after he was exposed in the Ashley Madison leak. Earlier in the year he also admitted that he had molested children 12 years ago, leading to the cancellation of the TV show that made both him and his family famous.

    When a video surfaced of Ariana Grande licking doughnuts (that she didn't pay for) and saying "I hate America," the pop star found herself in hot water. She later apologized, saying that she was proud to be an American, but upset about the childhood obesity problem in this country.

    Presidential candidate Donald Trump made a lot of headlines this year, but most memorable were his comments about Mexican immigrants. He said, "When Mexico sends its people, they're not sending their best. They're sending people that have lots of problems....They're bringing drugs, they're bringing crime. They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people." While many people took offense to his statement, he has stood by his words.

    This famous NBC anchor lost a lot of credibility when he revealed that he lied in a story about his experience in Iraq. When he apologized, he said that he did not intend to lie, but rather mis-remembered his experiences over many years.

    This member of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was arrested for public intoxication earlier in the year and decided to tackle her problem by going to rehab — making headlines, but also focusing on her own well-being and prioritizing sobriety.

    Before Caitlyn Jenner shocked everyone by coming out as transgender, she was involved in a fatal car crash earlier in the year that lead to the death of a 69-year-old woman. Jenner was cleared of any charges after the incident, although investigators had determined her to be driving "unsafely."

    Deflategate was perhaps the biggest scandal in the NFL this year. After this Patriots quarterback was involved in the deflation of footballs during a game against the Colts, Brady was suspended for four games and the team was fined $1 million.

    When the ex-husband of Khloé Kardashian overdosed on drugs and landed in a coma, the reality star ran to his side. Kardashian has called off their divorce, but only because of Odom's illness and the medical legalities surrounding his recovery.

    After Scott Disick was discovered to be allegedly cheating on his long-term girlfriend, Kourtney Kardashian, the two split. But since then, Disick has allegedly been spiraling downwards and partying nonstop, leaving Kardashian to fight for sole custody of their three young children.

    This long-revered actor had been accused of sexual assault in years past, but this was a breakthrough year as dozens of women came forward to say they had been sexually assaulted by Cosby. His 2005 deposition was made public, revealing that he had admitted to using date rape drugs. All of his reruns have been pulled from TV and his reputation has been completely ruined because of his alleged actions.

    In November, Charlie Sheen revealed not only that he is HIV-positive, but that he has paid more than $10 million to people to keep his diagnosis a secret.

    Although he returned to popularity thanks to his new album, Justin Bieber shocked many when nude pictures of the singer hit the internet after a vacation in Bora Bora. Later, he expressed his anger about his privacy being infringed upon.

    The biggest scandal for Democrats was the realization that former Secretary of State Clinton had sent emails containing government information from her private account. But after the emails were made public, no confidential information was found to be in them.

    Many called for the removal of the View host after she said several discriminatory statements on the show, like how she wouldn't hire someone with a "black" name. She also stirred up controversy for saying that a young black girl at Spring Valley High School, who was forcibly dragged out of a classroom by a police officer for supposedly being on her phone, deserved what she got.
