Tia Mowry

The Sister, Sister alum and current host of Tia Mowey at Home appeared on HuffPost Live this week and addressed those rumors about her weight gain that have been swirling for months.

"I am not pregnant, I am just happy. I've gained these extra 10 ... 15 pounds because of my cooking show," Tia explained, totally unabashedly.

Can we just pause for a moment to acknowledge how awesome Tia is for being so straightforward about the amount of weight she's gained? Ten, fifteen pounds ... no big deal, people!

"I'm just enjoying life, and when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I'm happy with who I am," said Tia, adding that these nasty speculations about her weight are a form of "body shaming."

A-MEN SISTER.

I love how open Tina is -- not just about the fact that yes, she's gained weight (so what?!), but about how insane and damaging it is to even be having the conversation.

Not to mention -- Tina says actually EATs the food she cooks on her ... cooking show! Astonishing! I love it. Because I am prettttty convinced that a number of cooking show hostesses do not. At all. Ever.

Tina has a great sense of humor about the whole thing, which makes her message even more powerful. She laughs at your pathetic fat-shaming comments. Because they are, indeed, pathetic!

Check out this Instagram post she shared a few months ago when the rumors first began:

I'd love to sit down with Tina and eat some of her delicious food and give her a big old "thank you!" hug. We need more confident, happy women like her in the public eye, being unashamed, unafraid, and completely beautiful.

Did you catch the part where Tina shares what she wants to say to the people who leave mean comments about her body on social media? She says, "Is that how you love yourself or someone else?"

Really, there you have it, people. The crux of the matter. Is that how you love yourself?

Let's all take a page from Tia's book and vow to love ourselves a little bit more, with a little more kindness. And, just as importantly, to check out of the damaging, body shaming conversations that go on all around us, all the time. A few pounds here and there from a life fully lived -- in the end, does it really make a difference?
