Kim Kardashian Undergoes Painful Procedure to Turn Her Breech Baby

Now in her 37th week of pregnancy, Kim Kardashian underwent a procedure to turn her baby from a breech position. This is a seriously intense move, but the reality star made it clear she did not want to have a C-section.

Over the weekend, Kim checked into the hospital to have what is called an External Cephalic Version (ECV), during which doctors manually re-position a breech baby into the head-down position needed for a natural birth. It's incredibly painful and doesn't always work, but thankfully for Kim, baby boy West followed directions and is now ready to make his debut when the time is right.

Kim has been really honest about her concerns over having a C-section. While she said she'd have the operation if it was required to keep her baby healthy, she'd do it, but it was certainly not her preferred method of birth.

The whole thing makes sense to us. Say what you want about the Kardashians, but Kim is always on the move to her next gig and is hardly the type to take a self-imposed "maternity leave" of sorts. The necessary downtime to heal after a C-section wouldn't exactly jive with her busy schedule, and might actually drive her batty.

We're happy the ECV went according to plan and hope for a speedy and healthy labor for Kim and her little guy.
