Ariel Winter Shuts Down Body-Shamer's Sexist 'Asking for It' Comment (PHOTOS)

People really suck sometimes, but this young star isn't having it. Ariel Winter struck back at body-shamers who had the audacity to leave negative comments on her sweet family photo, and girlfriend hit the nail on the head.

The 17-year-old Modern Family star posted this sweet snap a few days ago with her nieces, and it's totally gorgeous. Just having some family fun in the sun, right?

She looks gorgeous in her bikini, and those little girls are just too cute for words! However, she got some nasty comments over it, including at least one person saying that she was "asking for it" by posting a bikini pic.

Wow -- I had no idea that young women were required to wear burkas now! I must have missed that memo, this being America and all. Anyway, instead of trying to justify herself, or deleting the photo, or ignoring it altogether, she posted a second pic, and gave detractors a what-for in the caption.

It's a pic that shows how girls are judged based on their length of their skirts, all the way from "slut" to "prudish." The teen also had this to say to the haters:

Who knew that an innocent photo with my nieces would turn into this? The height of a girl's skirt or whatever she is wearing for that matter, does not imply what she is asking for. It sickens me to think at 17 years old, a photo of myself with my nieces is suggesting that I'm "asking for it". I typically never give power to the mean things people bravely say behind their computer screens on the Internet, but this is for the girls who are constantly bullied whether it be online or at school.. You are not asking for anything because of what you are wearing- you are expressing yourself and don't you ever think you deserve the negativity as the consequence to what you are wearing- YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. Celebrate you and don't let anyone's comments allow you to think less of yourself. Us girls have to stick together!!!!!!

Preach it, sister! She has every right to wear whatever she wants without anyone suggesting that she's asking for negative comments. The way she stood up for other girls just shows she's as gorgeous on the inside as she looks on the outside. And that's what really matters.
