Jessa Duggar Reveals Tip from Sister-in-Law Anna Duggar That Got Her Labor Started

jessa duggarEvery mom knows that when you get down to those last few (incredibly uncomfortable) days of pregnancy, you'll do just about anything to get labor started. Lucky for new mom Jessa (Duggar) Seewald, she had lots of ladies in her family to ask for advice -- and it was sister-in-law Anna Duggar's tip that finally convinced baby Spurgeon to make an appearance!

In the new issue of People, 23-year-old Jessa opened up about her labor and delivery -- and how anxious she was to get the process going. (Jessa's whole pineapple binge thing that we previously reported about didn't work!) Then Anna Duggar (wife to Josh Duggar and mother of his four children) told Jessa what she did to get her labor started when she was ready to pop out her third child:

"My sister-in-law Anna told me she walked stairs and that worked with her son Marcus," said Jessa.

"We walked up and down the stairs together 20 times until I was like, 'Okay, no more.'"

Expectant moms, take note: Just a couple of hours later, Jessa said she started having "hard contractions."

And, voilà! After a 48-hour home birth (!), which ended with an ambulance ride to the ER, little Spurgeon was born on November 5. (Or, at 9 lbs, 11 oz, perhaps we should say not-so-little Spurgeon?)

Hey, whatever works! Some moms swear by spicy food; others get acupuncture or have lots of sex. Guess we'll add climbing stairs to the list!
