Many doctors are skeptical and even weary of the advice some stars dish out with so much confidence, you'd think they were the foremost authority on a subject — when in reality, they're anything but.

Ronda Rousey
When it comes to sex, the UFC fighter recently told Maxim readers: "You should never need lube in your life. If you need lube, then you're being lazy...and you're not taking your time." However, for those suffering from vaginal dryness, lube is a must, and studies have shown that it actually heightens a woman's sexual satisfaction.
Gwyneth Paltrow
On her lifestyle website GOOP, Gwyneth Paltrow recommended women try steaming their vaginas: "It is an energetic release—not just a steam douche—that balances female hormone levels. If you're in LA, you have to do it." However, gynecologists generally don't recommend any kind of douching, and especially not the kind that has the potential to burn you.
Tom Cruise
The action star wasn't shy about criticizing Brooke Shield's use of antidepressants for her postpartum depression, saying: "She doesn't know what these drugs are and for her to promote it is irresponsible. And I wish her well in life. (But) it is irresponsible to do that." However, Tom Cruise's suggestion that a woman instead rely on vitamins and exercise to overcome depression was widely ripped apart by those in the medical field.
Megan Fox
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles actress and mom of two, Megan Fox, swears that drinking apple cider vinegar will help you burn fat: "It just cleanses out your system entirely. It will get rid of...for women who retain water weight from your menstrual cycle and all that...it gets rid of it really fast." However, nutritionists have debunked this theory. Drinking vinegar regularly could also erode your tooth enamel.

Khloe Karadashian
Despite reports that warn wearing a corset or a waist-trainer doesn't lead to any long-lasting changes in body shape and could potentially do harm, Khloe Kardashian has continued to promote waist-training on her Instagram, noting that "once you try it, you will become obsessed."
Miley Cyrus
The "Wrecking Ball" singer was slammed by one nutritionist for Tweeting: "Everyone should try no gluten for a week! The change in your skin, physical and mental health is amazing. You won't go back!" Reportedly, only those who have a gluten allergy are recommended to be on this diet, as gluten-free foods can be higher in calories and fat than their gluten counterparts.
Mark Cuban
The billionaire businessman and Shark Tank judge elicited controversy when he Tweeted that everyone should get blood tests four times a year. While it seemed like an innocuous suggestion, doctors pointed out that overscreening would cause people to receive more false positive test results, leading to treatments that they don't need.
Katy Perry
In 2013, Katy Perry Tweeted a photo of several large bags of vitamins with the caption "I'm all about that supplement & vitamin LYFE!" Reportedly, the singer takes 26 vitamins a day, which one doctor claimed was extreme and likely overkill.

The actor's Twitter rants about the dangers of vaccines ticked off at least one doctor, who commented, "Frankly, who is Jim Carrey to comment on the science?...He's an actor. Does he know the science? I don't think so."
