Prince William Gives Emotional Speech While Carrying On His Mom's Work

prince williamIt was difficult not to get emotional when hearing Prince William speak at the 21st anniversary dinner of Child Bereavement UK, a charity his mother, the late Princess Diana, supported. As Will spoke the words "grief is the most painful experience that any child or parent could endure," it truly showed the depth of his pain and also his mission to continue the good work his mother was doing.

It's not often that Prince William speaks so openly about his mother -- though he is a prince and in the public eye, he tries to keep his personal life very private.

Diana helped to launch this charity 21 years ago. It is run by Prince George's godmother and one of Diana's closest friends, Julia Samuel. Child Bereavement UK helps children who need support after the death of their parents for any reason.

It seems even more sad that this is a charity Diana cared so much about and started, and it's exactly the kind of support her own children needed when she was killed in a car crash in 1997. William was 15; Harry was 12.

The sweet prince also mentioned his own children and noted how he appreciates all this charity does even more because of them. I can't help but feel emotional as well. Now grown, William will carry that pain he felt as a kid forever. It's so beautiful he is carrying on his mother's work -- he truly is honoring her in such an amazing way, a way that makes a difference in other children's lives. He truly is a beautiful person inside, with a heart that, although wounded, carries on with nothing but love and care for others. He is such an admirable royal, along with his wife Kate who has many of the same qualities as his late mother.
