Lamar Odom's Future Is Uncertain as He Remains in Critical Condition

Things are looking bad. Lamar Odom remains in a coma on Thursday evening, and according to reports, his condition hasn't changed. Doctors still have no idea the extent of his brain damage, or if he'll be able to pull out of it and rehabilitate.

The 35-year-old NBA star is not even close to being out of the woods. A source told Us Weekly on Thursday, "Lamar's condition has not changed. They still can't tell what kind of brain damage he has. There's still brain swelling. They are waiting for the organs to start working again -- his kidneys are still in dialysis."

Odom remains on life support, while his not-quite-ex-wife Khloe Kardashian continues to make medical decisions for him. The two separated in December 2013, but their divorce still isn't final, which leaves her in charge.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star apparently made arrangements and paid for Lamar's whole family to be by his side right now, including his ex Liza Morales, and their two children, Destiny and Lamar Jr.

Another source told ESPN that Odom has shown "small signs of improvement" in the last 24 hours, but there's no word on what exactly that entails.

Lamar has made a lot of bad decisions in recent years -- his alleged drug problem was one of Khloe's deciding factors in finally leaving him -- but I hope that he recovers from this and doesn't end up paying for his mistakes with his life.

Hopefully this will be the kick in the pants to get the help he needs, and not a death sentence. He still has a lot of good left in the world he can accomplish. But first, he's going to need a miracle.
