Prince Harry Surprised With a Cool Gift We'd Love to See Him Wear (PHOTO)

After supporting his rugby team to the bitter end before England was knocked out of the next round of the World Cup, Prince Harry could use a hug right about now. He got the next best thing: While honoring a local rugby team in Devon, Prince Harry was presented with a surprise gift — personalized rugby boots.

Harry is the patron of England's team and was spotted in the stands at every game, cheering them on — even when Prince William and Kate Middleton sat inches away from him shouting for Wales. After dealing with the upsetting loss, the 31-year-old royal had his spirits lifted when he visited a local team in Paignton, Devon, to congratulate them on refurbishing their rugby clubhouse and turning it into a place where children and adults in the community can come together to play hard, work in a team setting, and learn important life values.

Naturally, a group of rugby-loving youngsters asked Harry to join them in a game, but he had to politely decline because he was wearing a suit. Regardless, he got lots of love that day — and an awesome gift that I'm sure he will cherish.

Sometimes I wonder what the royals do with all of the many gifts they accept as they travel from place to place. My guess is that they donate a great deal of toys and clothing — but I have a feeling Harry isn't going to give these shoes away anytime soon. What a cool, thoughtful gift — one he totally needed right about now.

In case you're wondering, Harry isn't planning on turning his nose up at the World Cup now that his number one team is out of the running. On the same day he visited the rugby club, he planned on taking in another World Cup match — Namibia versus Georgia. And, he admitted, everyone he spoke to that day seems to favor Japan — and that he thinks it would be "fantastic if Japan won."

Come on, Harry, strap on those sneakers and let's see your rugby skills.
