Miranda Lambert Needs a Hug After Blake Shelton's Latest Divorce Comments

Ugh -- this guy has gone from being one of my favs in the business to someone I wish would just stop talking. Blake Shelton just can't stop talking about his divorce from Miranda Lambert and basically what a happy guy he is now that he's not shackled down by a gorgeous, incredibly talented, rich country-superstar wife.

Good riddance to this guy, Miranda!

Anyway, this time Shelton was doing an interview on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown, when he insinuated that he's completely moved on from the devastation of the divorce. Just in case you need reminding, the couple dropped the bombshell that they were splitting in July, and the divorce was final just weeks later. After 10 years together, four of which were spent married.

The Voice coach said he was "good" and basically just loving life right now. He said:

I'm in a good place. I wasn't, but I am now. It's amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I've had some pretty cool things in recent times that have happened, and I'm loving it.

Dude. Was his heart in his marriage at all? This isn't the first time he's shown some callousness toward Miranda. Just last month, he joked about hooking up with Rihanna at some point (uh, did anyone ask RiRi about this?), which wasn't only just crass, but involved another person.

Shelton claims the two are still buddies, but come on. This is no way to talk about your divorce if you really do care about the other person. Divorce sucks big-time, even if it's mutual and amicable. No one should be going around talking openly about how life is better than it's ever been in the months following a marital split.

I mean, you don't have to be shouting from the rooftops how rough it is either, but why not just give things a little bit of time to settle? Even if Blake really is happier than he's ever been, he was married to Miranda -- and she deserves more respect.

Then again ... maybe his insensitive behavior since their breakup shows us exactly what went wrong in the first place. Whatever happened between them, we commend Lambert for keeping it classy -- something her ex has obviously failed to do.
