Gwyneth Paltrow Actually Earns Major Points for Defending Her Lifestyle Site

Even though she comes across sometimes as a sancti-mommy, Gwyneth Paltrow just earned major brownie points with me by her perfect response to Stephen Colbert's mockery of her lifestyle website Goop. Is it wrong to say this is one feud I hope continues? Both celebs were hilarious!


On the Late Show last week, Colbert devoted a segment to mocking celebrity lifestyle websites, including Blake Lively's Preserve, Reese Witherspoon's Draper James, and of course, the mother of them all,  Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop.

Then he announced his own lifestyle brand, Covetton House, which will focus on selling very expensive items, much like Goop notoriously does. It's pretty hilarious, a definitely worth a watch.

Paltrow responded perfectly on Goop, natch, and offered up 6 Fail-Proof Tips for Launching a Men's Lifestyle Site. She not only mocked Colbert's Covetton House, but also Snoop Dog's marijuana lifestyle brand. She offers up her advice to get themselves together, because "After all, hipsters -- and the dad bods that dress like them -- know there’s only one bulge that belongs under your skinny suit."

She continues to mock Colbert's mockery, while also poking fun at herself. "Our how-to, evergreen beauty content is SEO gold -- and you can link-bait the shit out of it." She also suggests that he write up an article about man buns with the subject line -- "The Panty Dropper of Hairstyles."

You can read the whole thing over at Goop, and you should. You won't be disappointed. There's something on anal bleaching that's particularly inspired.

Not that I'll ever be able to afford anything on one of these celebrity lifestyle sites, and I'll likely always hold a special place of mockery for Gwynnie's "conscious uncoupling," but my overall opinion of her just went through the roof.
