Amber Heard Supposedly Hated That Johnny Depp's Yacht Was Named for His Ex -- So He Sold It

This guy totally stepped up in my book. Johnny Depp sold his boat named after his ex Vanessa Paradis, reportedly because it made his wife Amber Heard uncomfortable. According to a source, Mrs. Depp refused to even climb aboard, but really, why would she want to?

An insider revealed to Us Weekly that the Pirates of the Caribbean star purchased the 156-foot yacht in 2007, and named it Vajoliroja after his partner of 14 years and the mother of their two children, Lily-Rose, 16, and Jack, 13. The source said, "Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa ... And Amber is still jealous of her."

I'm not really sure this is such an issue of jealousy as it is of wanting to move on and create something new, that has nothing to do with your spouse's ex-lover. Johnny spent a long time with Vanessa, and I'm sure they shared a lot of happy memories together -- and probably more than a few on that boat. The insider reported, "Johnny loved that yacht. But he bought it for Vanessa."

I think this talk about jealousy is probably pretty far-fetched. It seems to me like Depp just did a kind thing all around. No ex-partner (he and Paradis were never actually married) wants to see a former lover doing the exact same things that they once enjoyed together. It would probably make Vanessa just as uncomfortable with Amber on the boat as Amber reportedly was being there.

When long-term couples split, especially when kids are involved, it can be complicated. Even when two people aren't meant to be together anymore, it's still tough to split a shared life. Sometimes it's best just to purge the old, and bring in the new.

For whatever reason Johnny Depp decided to sell the yacht, it was probably a good decision for everyone involved.
