Princess Charlotte Is About to Take Her First Trip Outside of England

You're never too young to start racking up frequent flier points -- especially if you're the youngest member of the royal family. Kate Middleton and Prince William are reportedly taking Princess Charlotte and Prince George to Scotland -- and it will be the 4-month-old's first voyage out of England.

The adorable foursome is reportedly headed for Queen Elizabeth's Scottish estate, Balmoral, where she and her family will celebrate a huge milestone: On September 9, Elizabeth will officially become Great Britain's longest-reigning monarch, passing her great-great grandmother Queen Victoria's reign.

A big dinner party is planned for that evening at the estate, but neither Kensington Palace nor Buckingham Palace will reveal details about guests -- though we hear Prince Charles and Camilla are not expected to join in the revelry.

More from The Stir: Princess Charlotte Already Deemed Unfit to Be Queen

This first little trip is going to be a big one for Charlotte. Her older brother was 9 months old when he joined his parents on their royal tour of Australia and New Zealand and rumor has it the family of four is prepping for a tour of the Caribbean sometime next year. Every parent knows how difficult it can be to travel with children, so this mini expedition will allow Kate and Will to practice packing for four -- and will get their kiddies more comfortable with air travel.

This is also great news for us -- we're totally going to get to see George wearing a kilt and Charlotte rocking her little red tartan pinafore, which was a gift from the Sons of Scotland Pipe Band. Everyone wins!
