Jill Duggar Has the Best Response to Her Brother's Cheating Scandal Yet

Most of the Duggar family has remained mum since Josh admitted to being addicted to porn, and to cheating on his beautiful wife Anna, but a few have chosen to speak out. The latest to enter the fray is Jill Dillard, who addressed the issue on her blog she keeps with her husband Derick.

She keeps the blog mostly as a way to update fans on their journey to become missionaries in Central America, but given everything that's gone down with the 19 Kids and Counting crew in the last few weeks, it's only appropriate that she at least touch on the subject.

And that's exactly what she did -- just briefly touched on it. She didn't go into detail about the scandal, but she opened her update with:

Hey everyone! August has been a busy month for us and as so many of you know it has ended on a sad note for my extended family. Please do pray for our family. We are so thankful for God’s grace during difficult days.

It's definitely more compassionate than her little sister Jessa Seewald's social media post on Monday, which was basically a sermon instructing couples on how to affair-proof their marriages.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar announced on their family blog that Josh had entered a long-term treatment facility for Christian-based counseling, and said that their "hearts were broken."

Michael Seewald, Jessa's father-in-law, also blogged last week on the topic, and called Josh a "fraud" and a "pretender," and urged those watching the situation to not equate Josh with one living God's word.

Jill wisely remained silent, asking only for prayers. It's interesting that she was sure to point out that it was her extended family. Obviously Derick and their son Israel make up her new immediate family, but she didn't necessarily need to add that distance in there.

Anyway, I like that she didn't pretend that nothing had happened, but she also refrained from commenting on it excessively. Anna has a lot on her plate right now, dealing with the breakdown of her marriage, the public scrutiny, and mothering her four adorable children. I think Jill did the right thing for her by just letting it be.
