10 Celebrity Couples Who Loved Each Other So Much, They Got Married Twice! (PHOTOS)

Maybe the first time around their opposing filming schedules tore them apart; maybe they married too young and needed time to mature. Or maybe the fires of passion sputtered but never really died out. Whatever the reason, for some celebs, marrying someone once is just not enough.

Here are 10 celebrity couples who gave love a second chance when they married former spouses. It didn't always end in happily ever after, but hey, they gave it a shot -- a double shot!

  • Melanie Griffiths & Don Johnson

The Working Girl star was just age 14 when she fell hard for mom Tippi Hedren's 22-year-old co-star, Don Johnson. The two wed in 1976, but ended it after just six months. The flame was clearly not extinguished, though, as the pair reunited and remarried in 1989, and later that year, their daughter, Dakota (star of 50 Shades of Gray), was born. They divorced in 1994, reconciled briefly then finally ended it for good. Griffiths went on to marry actor Antonio Banderas, but the two have since divorced as well.

  • Nene & Gregg Leakes

Nasty on-air arguments and nastier divorce. Somehow, not getting along and putting each other on blast during their first marriage (1997 to 2011) didn't stop Real Housewives of Atlanta's NeNe and Gregg Leakes from making a second trip down the aisle. And they did so in grand style, filming the prep and ceremony itself on a spin-off show, I Dream of NeNe.

  • Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

The queen of unions and disunions may have married eight times, but she only signed on the dotted line twice with one man: the love of her life, Richard Burton. After leaving respective marriages to be with each other (they had a torrid affair while filming Cleopatra, igniting a scandal), they couldn't keep their two marriages to each other  going (1964 to 1974 and 1975 to 1976). Alcohol and infidelity reportedly contributed to their separation, though they remained obsessed with each other until Burton's death.

  • Pamela Anderson & Rick Salomon

Playboy Playmate and actress Pamela Anderson and professional poker player Rick Salomon must have had more in common than leaked sex tapes when they got together (hers co-starred Tommy Lee, his co-starred Paris Hilton). After all, they married twice; in 2007 for less than a year, and from 2014 to 2015. Their most recent divorce was a nasty one, with Anderson filing a restraining order, citing Salomon's abuse, and he calling her a "serial baby killer with her husbands." Sounds like these two are beter off apart.

  • Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner

The West Side Story star had had a crush on Robert Wagner since she was a child. At 18, her studio set her up on a date with him, and a year later, in 1957, they were married. They divorced in 1962, but their separation lasted only 10 years. Wood, fresh off another divorce, remarried Wagner in 1972. Nine years later, she drowned while the couple and friend Christopher Walken were vacationing on Wagner's boat. The men were questioned and the death was ruled accidental, though a veil of suspicion has always covered Wagner. The case was reopened and the cause of death amended to “drowning and other undetermined factors."

  • Barbara Walters & Merv Adelson

You could say Barbara Walters is half-Elizabeth Taylor. The legendary journalist has been married four times (to Taylor's eight) but like Taylor, she married the same man twice. Walters double-dipped with Merv Adelson, the TV producer behind Knot's Landing and other hits. The pair were married from 1981 to 1984, then from 1986 to 1992. Apparently she's now had enough of marriage, sticking to dating since her divorce.

  • Marie Osmond & Steve Craig

Before the '70s singing icon, a practicing Mormon, remarried former basketball player Steve Craig (in her original wedding dress, no less), she wanted to be sure he was the one, uh, again. So she secretly dated him for two years before the two wed again in 2011. Who can blame her? Their first marriage dated back to 1982 (ending in 1985). A lot can happen in 30 years!

  • Judge Judy & Judge Jerry

She was not about to mess around. The first time Judy Sheindlin (aka Judge Judy) saw her husband, Jerry, she stuck a finger in his face and asked her friend, "Who is this?" A year later, when he hadn't asked her to marry him, she proposed to him. They married in 1977, but divorced in 1990. They remarried a year later, though, and have been inseparable ever since.

  • Jean Claude Van Damme & Gladys Portugues

The Belgian martial artist and action movie star struggled with a $10,000-a-week cocaine habit and an undiagnosed bipolar disorder for years, which may explain his five marriages. He married his third wife, bodybuilder Gladys Portugues, two times, in 1987 (until 1992) and again in 1999. They recently filed for divorce, but have since reconciled.

  • Richard Pryor & Jennifer Lee

The seminal comedian was the son of a prostitute and a hustler and grew up in his grandmother's brothel. He used his background as fodder for his comedy, but for the comedian, "who struggled to be at peace with himself," it couldn't have made for a solid foundation for marriage. He wed seven times, twice to the same women (actress Flynn Belaine, and actress and producer Jennifer Lee). His second time around with Lee (in photo, left) stuck. They were together from 2001 until his death in 2005.

  • Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera

Nothing ever came easily to artist Frida Kahlo, whose health struggles plagued her all her life, and her marriage to muralist Diego Rivera was no different. They first met when she sought career advice from him. He was married, but they started a relationship anyway, walking down the aisle in 1929, to the bitter disapproval of her family. They may have connected intellectually, but they clashed in almost every other respect. Despite that, their 1939 divorce was quicklly followed by remarriage in 1940, which lasted until her 1954 death.

  • Sinbad & Meredith Adkins

Comedian Sinbad and his wife, Meredith Adkins, met long before he hit Hollywood, when he was in the Air Force and stationed in Wichita, Kansas. They married in 1985 but soon afterward, as his career ascended, the marriage fell apart. They divorced in 1992 but their love, if not their marriage, withstood the test of time, and the couple reconciled and remarried in 2002.

  • George C. Scott & Colleen Dewhurst

Two brilliant artists, two stormy marriages. Here's how theater icon Colleen Dewhurst described her relationship with Patton actor George C. Scott: "I have great love and affection for George. And admiration. He's brilliant. I always said we got on much better during the divorces. I'm very subjective, he's very objective. We make a better brother and sister."
