Josh Duggar Checks Into Rehab While His Family Will 'Pray' for 'Sincere Change'

Thank God Josh Duggar is finally doing something right and checking into rehab. The family announced that the troubled reality star "checked himself into a long-term treatment center" this week, six days after coming clean being outed about cheating on his wife and being addicted to pornography.

Josh was exposed in the Ashley Madison hack, when two separate accounts showed up in his name, corresponding to his addresses at the time.

Last May, a police report from 2006 surfaced, indicating that Josh had molested five underage girls as a young teen, four of whom were his own sisters. The family stayed united during that time, even as their hit show, 19 Kids and Counting, was dropped by TLC.

To add insult to injury, stripper and porn star Danica Dillon passed a lie detector test saying that Josh paid her thousands of dollars to engage in some very rough sex on two separate nights -- while Anna was pregnant with their fourth child.

Yup, he's basically a hot mess.

In a statement posted to the Duggar family's website, Jim Bob and Michelle wrote, "We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son's decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear."

They continued, "Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God -- He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family."

I'm not really sure rehab is what Josh needs as much a good swift kick in the nuts, but there's one very important aspect to his going away -- it will give Anna some time and space to grieve, begin to heal, and decide for herself what she wants to do about her marriage.

Everyone seems to have an opinion on whether Anna should divorce Josh or stay with him, but the only one whose thought on the subject really matter is Anna. The Duggars say that they support her, and I sincerely hope that they mean that, especially if she ends up making a decision that they don't agree with.

Anna hasn't made a statement since all of this came out, but sources close to the family say she's staying put. If that's her decision, then OK. But it needs to be hers alone. She doesn't have to stay married any more than she has to get a divorce. She's been put in a terrible situation against her will, and unfortunately, there are going to be negative consequences no matter which way she goes.

Which is exactly why she's going to need family support no matter what. Jim Bob and Michelle owe her that much.
