Sadie Robertson Thinks 'It Will All Work Out' If Duggar Family Just Forgives Josh

She may be all kinds of adorable, but this young lady may have just stuck her foot in her mouth. Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson weighed in on the Josh Duggar cheating scandal, and what she had to say is likely causing more than a few people to shake their heads.

The reality star told People magazine that she believes "it will all work out" if the 19 Kids and Counting crew can just forgive Josh for his indiscretions, including (but not limited to, we're sure) molesting five underage girls as a young teen, and then using Ashley Madison to cheat on his wife as an adult.

Ugh. Josh Duggar.

Anyway, the Dancing with the Stars alum is no stranger to controversy, having gone through it when her family's reality show was almost pulled from A&E after her grandfather, Phil Robertson, made some controversial comments about homosexuality.

Can I just take a moment to point out the difference between stating a controversial belief, and adultery? Not to mention molestation. Geez.

Anyway. Sadie said she was "praying" for the Duggars, as they're dealing with the fallout of all of this. She said, "It honestly makes me really sad that they're having to go through this, because it's one thing to go through it as a family, and it would be just as hard for them if they weren't in the limelight, but ... everybody's talking about it, and that just adds that many more comments, that many more opinions ... We've been there, it's hard."

She continued, "It's been kind of a secret for a long time, and everybody knows [that] when secrets come out, it's not fun. Secrets are hard. You shouldn't keep secrets."

The girl has a point, but let's face it -- secrets happen. Especially when someone like Josh has been living a double life.

More from The Stir: 'Duck Dynasty' Star Sadie Robertson 'Gets Real' About Unrealistic Life Goals

She attempted to liken Josh's scandal with her own family's, by saying, "They almost canceled Duck Dynasty whenever my grandpa said the things that he said, and that would have been, in my opinion, not a very good decision, because that was putting one man's words in all of our mouths ... Josh Duggar, that's not his whole family. His whole family didn't do that. He made a mistake."

But his family covered up the mistake, which obviously led to many more sins down the road. Just saying.

Sadie said, "At this point it is what it is, and so they're just going to have to make the best out of it. ... If they can forgive him, it will all work out."

I wish it were that easy, but it's just not. God does work all things together for His good, but it doesn't mean that human relationships will necessarily be repaired in this life. Sometimes, just too much damage has been done for people to trust each other again.
