Kate Middleton’s Rules Will Give George & Charlotte a (Somewhat) Normal Childhood

Kate Middleton may be a duchess, but that doesn't mean that she'll bow to just any royal decree or expectation. She's even created a "new model of royalty" along with her husband Prince William, nicknamed the "Middleton Rules."

Since Duchess Catherine hasn't been seen much in public lately, a lot of people are wondering if her absence has to do with the "Middleton Rules," which were created by Prince William after their engagement as a way of allowing Kate some privacy.

Will reportedly assured Kate's dad, Michael Middleton, that he would do everything in his power to make sure that his bride would not suffer the same fate as his late mother, who was constantly in the spotlight from the day she wed until the day she died while being chased by paparazzi.

According to the Daily Mail, the "Middleton Rules" have gone beyond just protecting Kate's privacy to allowing the royal couple to raise their children as normally as possible at their Norfolk home.

The rules were apparently presented to the Queen and Prince Charles before the wedding, and have begun creeping into everything from royal duties to child rearing.

Insiders believe that the rules were responsible for Kate's absence from the wedding of socialite Daisy Dickson and Old Harrovian estate agent Bear Maclean last weekend. William attended the event in Devon, along with his sister-in-law Pippa Middleton.

Who knows if the "Middleton Rules" actually exist, but one thing's for sure -- William and Kate have sure shaken up how things are done at the palace.
