Neil Patrick Harris’s High-Pitched 'Doogie Howser' Impersonation Is Giving Us the Nostalgic Feels (VIDEO)

neil patrick harrisSure, Neil Patrick Harris is a world-famous star of stage and screen now, but most of us fell in love with NPH long before How I Met Your Mother, Hedwig, or the Oscars -- back when a little show called Doogie Howser M.D. was all the rage (and Harris's voice was a wee bit higher)!

Harris had himself a little Doogie-themed throwback moment on The Late Late Show Wednesday night when host James Corden asked if he ever watched reruns of the show that catapulted him to fame back in the late '80s/early '90s -- and Harris naturally answered with his typical self-deprecating charm:

"It’s weird to watch because I sound like I was in the Wizard of Oz or something," he said, raising his voice an octave or two in demonstration. In addition to the munchkin-esque quality of his Doogie voice, Harris said he also realizes now that he had a strange habit of pronouncing his "s" sounds as "sh."

"Wanda, I think it'sh time we finally had shex," he said, impersonating himself as Doogie.

Flashback!!! Remember when the question of whether or not Doogie and Wanda were ever going to have "shex" was like, the only thing you and your friends talked about?? 'Cause I do. (Also, speaking of bizarre pronunciations, remember how it always sounded like Wanda was saying "Duggie" instead of "Doogie"? And while we're on the subject, whatever happened to Wanda?? Anyway.)
