Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner Wear Wedding Rings and Shop for Shoes (?!)

jennifer garner, ben affleckIf you were in Atlanta this weekend and thought you caught a glimpse of Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and their three kids shopping for shoes, don't worry -- you're not hallucinating! The newly split couple did indeed go on a family outing on Saturday, and the details are pretty intriguing.

Apparently Affleck flew to Atlanta from Los Angeles (home of the much-maligned former nanny Christine Ouzounian) to spend time with Garner and the kids, who are living in Georgia while Garner films the movie Miracle From Heaven (not much art imitating life in Garner's life right now, eh?). While there, Ben and Jen took Violet, 9, Seraphina, 6, and Samuel, 3, to see Inside Out -- then did a little shoe shopping. Sounds like a pretty average day for a young family, right?

Except, as we all know, it was anything but. Because right now the entire world is buzzing about Ben's alleged affair with Ouzounian, which must have made relations between Ben and Jen just an absolute picnic -- and yet, the couple reportedly managed to stay cheerful throughout the day. Not only that, they actually wore their wedding rings!

That last bit is the surprising part, at least in my opinion. Because I'm not at all surprised that Affleck and Garner are trying to keep things as normal as possible for their kids -- since announcing their split, they've been very clear about their ongoing commitment to co-parenting. But the wedding rings?? It makes me wonder how much the kids know at this point. Or maybe it upsets the kids to see their parents without wedding rings and they're just trying to ease them into the concept? Either way, they're clearly making their kids' well-being the focus right now, and that's absolutely commendable.

But I still say the whole thing must have been awfully confusing for innocent bystanders!!
