Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson End Their Courtship -- But There Probably Wouldn't Have Been a Wedding Special Anyway

Break out the Ben & Jerry's because today's Duggar news is big, bad, and sad: a Duggar has been dumped. Or, to put it more nicely, Josiah Duggar and Marjorie Jackson have ended their courtship. But we know a dumping when we hear it, poor guy.

The Duggars shared the news with People, and gave them this statement:

A few weeks ago Marjorie and Josiah agreed to end their courtship, keeping in step with what they believe the Lord's will is. Both are thankful for the time getting to know each other, and their families continue to enjoy each other's company and close friendship.

Talk about a tough year for the Duggars. Josh, Jill, and Jessa all married the people they courted, and none of the other kids have dated anyone. So that makes Josiah the first Duggar to have to deal with a parent-supervised breakup.

It's obviously been a crazy time for the family, and this news comes right in the middle of that. If their relationship ended a few weeks ago, then that would have been right after 19 Kids and Counting was canceled. Could that be Marjorie's motivation -- that she wouldn't be on TV? Or maybe she or her family had objections with the scandal itself?

Or, maybe, the two just weren't compatible, and they broke it off once they realized that. It seems too easy and too ... normal, but it is possible.

Well, however it ended, we hope Marjorie finds someone with a smaller and less crazy family, and we hope Josiah likes chocolate ice cream, because we'll be over soon with some snacks and rom-coms. Hang in there, bud!
