Will Smith & Jada Pinkett Smith Refer to Each Other as 'King' and 'Queen' & Promise They're Not Divorcing

will smith, jada pinkett smithWhile some celebs are spending this week confirming divorce rumors (we're looking at you, Gwen and Gavin), others are vehemently denying them. Of course, we're talking specifically about the Smiths. Hollywood power couple, er, royalty Will and Jada Pinkett Smith want the world to know they're most definitely staying together -- seriously!!

Just yesterday, the interwebs were all aflutter with buzz about Will and Jada's impending split. Usually when rumors like these start flying, the celebrities involved stay quiet if they want them to fade -- sort of the "don't dignify it with a response" approach. But in an unprecedented PR move, Will Smith actually took to Facebook to address the gossip that he and Jada were ending their marriage after 17 years:

And while there's a chance all of this is a big old cover-up, I kind of doubt it. The fact that they're both going out of their way to deny a rift -- rather than issuing a statement through their reps or just ignoring the whole thing -- seems to me like some pretty solid evidence that they're doing just fine. And in retrospect, it probably wasn't fair for all of us to jump on little quotes from the past about their "struggles" or the realities of marriage. After all, shouldn't celebrities have the right to speak openly about how challenging it can be to stay together for 17 years?! It's not gonna be all sunshine and roses all the time -- which is exactly what makes staying together so meaningful. So personally, I'm gonna go ahead and believe Will and Jada on this one, and congratulate them on their successful partnership.

At least now we can focus all our energy on being sad about Gwen and Gavin!
