Kendall & Kylie Jenner Didn't Ask Their Sisters for Advice on New Shoe Line (But They May As Well Have)

kendall jenner, kylie jennerYou'd think that one of the major advantages to having Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe Kardashian as big sisters would be getting to ask them for advice. But when it came to Kendall and Kylie Jenner's new shoe line, apparently the girls insisted on doing things sans sisterly counsel!

Kendall and Kylie just debuted their brand-new footwear and apparel line on Friday -- their first solo venture following collaborations with TopShop, Steve Madden and PacSun -- and the Kardashian aesthetic is prominent throughout: Crazy high heels and platforms, laces, pointed toes, and lots of black. But even if the shoes look like something straight out of Kim's closet, any similarities are strictly by chance, because Kendall and Kylie deliberately avoided getting their big sisters' input on design.

"We don’t want their opinion on it because we want it to be very 'us,'" says Kendall.

"We don't show them anything until it's done and out. We all have similar styles but different tastes."

That makes sense, because, after all, Kylie and Kendall have completely different bodies and interests than their big sisters -- they even have completely different bodies and interests from each other! Diminutive Kylie, for instance? Well, you're not gonna see that girl ditching her heels anytime soon.

"I don't wear flats. Ever. I don't own a pair, not even gladiators," she says. "Just a few sneakers -- that's the only time I'll wear a flat. Heels make me feel so much better. I'm not as skinny as Kendall, so when I'm in heels, it makes my legs look longer and slimmer.”

Super-tall Kendall, meanwhile, is way into flats -- but that doesn't mean she'll wear any old kind of shoe:

"I'm not into clogs. No, you won't find a Kendall + Kylie clog," she says.

Fair enough. The funny thing is, though, that we're pretty sure Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe would approve of the no-clog rule, too -- just one more example of how the elder sisters are wielding their influence over Kendall and Kylie's new venture, even though they're technically "not."

Don't feel bad about it, Kendall and Kylie! You've got some pretty influential older siblings -- and hey, if you're gonna be stuck in anybody's shadows, you could do worse!
