Tom Cruise Slays Jimmy Fallon with 'Paradise by the Dashboard Light' in Lip Sync Battle (VIDEO)

tom cruiseSay what you will about Tom Cruise, he's a man of many talents: acting, couch-jumping, and now ... lip-syncing! That's right, the Mission Impossible star accepted Jimmy Fallon's "Lip Sync Battle" on last night's Tonight Show, and we've got to admit -- he very nearly beat the host at his own game.

Not gonna lie: Cruise's first song ("I Can't Feel My Face" by the Weeknd) had me a little concerned about his ultimate fate in this musical duel. It's not that he didn't do a perfectly fine job -- he did -- but it was just ... perfectly fine. More than adequate, certainly, but it didn't knock me off my feet. Which made Fallon's first song -- "Undercover of the Night" by the Rolling Stones -- that much more impressive. Granted, we already knew Fallon could do a spot-on Mick Jagger, but truly? The man outdid himself last night (finger cast or no finger cast!). Just check out that Jagger snarl:

Ah-mazing. At this point, I was pretty sure Cruise was doomed to defeat. I mean, who could top an "Undercover of the Night" of that caliber?! And then -- and then!! Cruise ALMOST did "Old Time Rock 'n' Roll" by Bob Seger. (You know, like in THAT SCENE from Risky Business??) Except then he didn't, because, as he noted, that would have been "unfair." But the song he went with was just as good: "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" by Meat Loaf. Why was it such a win? Because the song is a male-female duet, of course, which forced Cruise to play BOTH roles ... and he nailed it. 'Cause the guy's a movie star, duh! I mean, this face??

But the best part of the night, by far, was when Fallon and Cruise teamed up for a version of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by the Righteous Brothers. (You know, like Top Gun??) Especially because they went out into the audience and made THIS lady's life:
