Bobby Brown Breaks His Silence Following Bobbi Kristina Brown's Death

Heartbroken dad Bobby Brown has broken his silence following the death of his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown over the weekend, and his grief is palpable. His love for his daughter with the late Whitney Houston was evident in his words, and while the rest of us may mourn the loss, I don't think there's any pain greater than a parent losing a child.

The 46-year-old released a statement via his lawyer on Monday, saying, "Krissy was and is an angel. I am completely numb at this time ... My family must find a way to live with her in spirit and honor her memory. Our loss is unimaginable."

He added, "We thank everyone for the prayers for Krissy and our family as we mourn my baby girl."

Bobbi Kristina clung to life for months after being found facedown and unresponsive in her bathtub last January, but was finally moved to hospice care several weeks ago. Her dad and other family members were with her when she passed on Sunday, and he personally contacted other loved ones to let them know of her death.

Brown's legal representative Christopher Brown also said in a statement on Monday, "Yesterday Bobbi Kristina Brown took her place in heaven ... Krissy fought to get well for months, however she has [succumbed] to her injuries."

A source close to the family told People magazine that Brown is doing OK, despite the terrible circumstances. "He is holding it together more than you'd expect," the insider revealed. "He knew it was coming. Of course he's very emotional, but at the same time, he knows that Krissy is in a better place now."

They continued, "He is taking comfort in the fact that she's with her mother and that there will be no more sadness or pain. She is at peace. He knows that and is taking comfort in that."

After everything that Whitney and Bobby went through, I'm glad that he's able to take some comfort that she's reunited with her daughter in the afterlife. Losing a child is one of the most painful things a person can endure, and I imagine that Bobby Brown will be feeling numb for a while.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
