Kate Middleton's First Royal Outing Gets Rained Out But She Still Manages to Shine (PHOTO)

kate middletonPrincess Kate Middleton is ready to cheer on America's Cup -- she's with Prince William in Portsmouth, England, for the yacht races. It marks her first official royal outing since the birth of Princess Charlotte. And her choice of outfit couldn't be more ... common (yet completely adorable). And it's something we've seen before.

The day was a disaster, weather-wise. There were monsoon conditions, but Kate pulled her hair back in that perfect ponytail. She wore tan-and-white boat shoes with a pair of skinny jeans. Under her official pullover jacket was a black-and-white striped top. Wait a minute. This outfit is the same one she wore at the last yacht race -- where she raced against Will and won. Perhaps this is her lucky boat-inspired outfit? Maybe it's one of her signature looks?

I love it.

We have to also marvel over the jacket, too. I love "The Duchess of Cambridge" printed on back. Super cute!

The weather prevented the first round of races from happening, but Will and Kate left with two Royal Navy aircraft replicas given to them for the kids -- both crafted specifically to be childproof and safe.

Kate also looked much less tired at this event than when she stepped out with Will for Wimbledon a couple of weeks ago. Though that wasn't "official" business, she still brought her A-game when it came to style -- Kate looked stunning in red even if she had the new mom sleepy look.

Extending these races means one thing -- we will see more of Kate when they continue, so prepare for more cute and casual outfits that we can be inspired by. And remember -- it's totally okay to be photographed in the same outfit more than once.
