Details of Prince George's Second Birthday Party Couldn't Be Any Sweeter

prince georgeIf you thought Prince George's 2nd birthday party was fit for a King, think again. It was, in fact, fit for a sweet 2-year-old with a loving mom and dad. Kate Middleton and Prince William aren't the type to spoil their child with massive themed extravaganzas. Instead they had a quiet celebration of little Georgie's birth. The details are delightfully sweet.

Around 4 p.m., several fancy cars began arriving at Anmer Hall, Will and Kate's country home in Norfolk. Seen entering the small soiree was grandparents Carole and Michael Middleton, along with aunt Pippa and uncle James. The Queen was there, too, of course, along with Prince Philip.

Grandparents Prince Charles and Camilla couldn't attend since they were on royal business, but I'm going to guess they will have their own little celebration when they return. A 2-year-old's birthday wouldn't be complete without love and presents from the whole family. Especially grampa Charlie.

Aside from the many gifts spotted being brought into the home, that was it. No frills. No fuss. Nothing over-the-top. Which leads me to believe that this party was perfect for Prince George. Not too overwhelming, scheduled perhaps as not to interrupt Princess Charlotte's nap time, and filled with smiles. I bet George enjoyed opening the gifts as much as the gifts themselves -- toddlers love the sound of wrapping paper. Maybe even Aunt Pippa made the cake. Maybe.
