Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard Reveal the Exotic Location of Their New Home

Ever since Jill Duggar and her husband Derick Dillard announced their impending oversease move to do missionary work, we've been dying to know where, exactly, they were headed. But thanks to a recent update on the Duggar/Dillard blog, now we have a lot more info on Jill and Derick's missionary location!

We had figured they were going somewhere, far, far away from the prying camera lenses of post-scandal paparazzi (thanks for that, Josh); we also figured it might be somewhere sort of remote (in keeping with the whole missionary work thing). Now we know for sure.

On Saturday, Jill and Derick shared this post:

We are so excited to announce that we have safely arrived on the mission field and we can now tell you that we are in Central America! Israel seems to be adjusting to the new climate, culture, food (via mom’s milk), and language faster than Jill and I are. In fact, he has been the talk of the town. Everywhere we go, people hear about and want to see and hold the, 'big blue-eyed, white baby' LOL. Israel is definitely growing and developing fast. It has also been wonderful to make contact and talk briefly with family back in the US to share updates.

Hmmm. "Talk briefly with family back in the U.S.," eh?? I could be wrong, but it seems to me that's Jill and Derick's way of saying, "Yeah, we know 19 Kids and Counting got canceled, but we just don't care, okay? We're moving on -- and AWAY. So don't ask us about it!"

More from The Stir: Jill Duggar & Derick Dillard Have a Little Too Much Help With Their New Baby

Well, you know what? Good for them! I've said it before and I'll say it again: Jill Duggar most definitely deserves to move on with her life and put the horror of abuse at the hands of her very own brother way, way behind her. If that means trekking through Central America with her husband and baby preaching the "word of the Lord," so be it! Why should she have to answer questions about her family's failed reality show?

Doing missionary work wouldn't be my first choice for a post-traumatic stress-free getaway, but hey, different strokes. The ending of Jill and Derick's post sends a very clear message that they're still very much involved in their faith (but hopefully on their own terms):

"Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!" -Psalm 106:1

Good luck, Jill and Derick!
