Queen Elizabeth's Mean Nickname for Kate Middleton Is Totally Uncalled For

And you thought you had a tough time getting along with your in-laws! Queen Elizabeth II is apparently not happy with her granddaughter-in-law Kate Middleton, and has even dubbed her "Duchess of Do-Little."

Another nickname around the palace? "Lazy Katie."

According to Life & Style Weekly, sources have reported that the royals are miffed that Prince William's wife skipped out on meeting her country's veterans and attended Wimbledon instead. Royal Air Force officials confirmed that Kate was supposed to attend a July 10 luncheon to honor WWII vets but canceled.

That event was two days after her courtside appearance at the world famous tennis tournament, and just two weeks after hosting Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie at Kensington Palace.

The insider told the mag, "Kate is getting a bit of a reputation for ducking out of royal duties ... That's where her nicknames, 'Duchess of Do-Little' and 'Lazy Katie,' come from. If you can't find time to pay tribute to some old men who saved your country, what message does that convey?"

The Queen apparently thinks it's a bad one. "She would never say this in public, but even Her Majesty described Kate as 'Duchess Do-Little' when she was very tired one day," shared another Buckingham Palace source. "She comes from a different generation and has a sense of duty above all else."

More from The Stir: Prince William Calls Princess Charlotte a 'Joy,' but It Sounds Like George Is a Real Handful

OK, I highly doubt that the very proper Queen of England would describe Duchess Catherine as "Duchess Do-Little," but even if she thinks that, it just goes to show that Kate really is breaking all the royal rules when it comes to raising her children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

Kate's basically acting as a stay-at-home-mom right now, raising her kiddos with a much more hands-on approach than royals before her. And it's exhausting, especially with a newborn at home. She's not going to be able to attend every single event, even important ones that honor veterans.

Hey, at least she didn't go and horrify everyone by twirling her hair again.
