If you were one of the approximately 90 kajillion people who stood in line at the movie theater for the premiere of Jurassic World this weekend, you'll be happy to hear that Chris Pratt has signed on to be part of the franchise for a very, very long time. In fact, if there's any truth to what the actor says, the dinosaur-themed franchise could end up going on record for the most installments ever!

When asked by Entertainment Weekly if he signed on for the sequel, Pratt replied:

"I am. They have me for I think 38 movies or something."

Whoa, that's a lot of running away from giant CGI lizards! Obviously Pratt is exaggerating -- by quite a lot, we would assume -- but he's clearly also making a statement: Yes, there will be a sequel, probably more than one, and yes, he's definitely attached. And why wouldn't he be? Naturally there's got to be a ridiculous amount of money involved for Pratt, not to mention further fuel for his ever-expanding starpower machine.

But we all know those action/fantasy series are really nothing without an instantly recognizable (preferably charming and handsome) face. So really, it's a match made in movie heaven. Plus, Pratt seems to legit love the Jurassic premise -- he had this to say about seeing the movie in the theater as a kid:

"I was 13. It started when I saw the movie trailer on TV. Like the sound of the feet thundering and the water shaking on the glass and the T. rex making the sound the T. rex makes and then Jurassic Park by Steven Spielberg. I was like “Oh my God I have to see that!” I saw it on opening weekend twice. It just captured my imagination and swept me up. I was one of the kids who in that generation who saw that movie. I can’t think of anyone who’s like I haven’t seen Jurassic Park."

Awww. So it really is a match made in movie heaven! We just hope Pratt still has time for smaller projects that let him explore his quirkier side in between all these mega-blockbuster commitments. Because he's really a pretty versatile dude!

Have you seen Jurassic World yet?
