Gwyneth Paltrow Gets Mad When You Compare Her to Blake Lively or Jessica Alba

Actress Gwyneth Paltrow may be proud of her entrepreneurial spirit launching Goop, but it turns out the actress hates being lumped in with other "ambitious" women.

In an interview with Time magazine about celebrities with lifestyle brands, she was asked if she'd checked out sites like those founded by Blake Lively, Reese Witherspoon, and Jessica Alba.

Her response? She criticized the media's knee-jerk urge to always group female entrepreneurs together. To drive her point home, she mentioned two male stars who've branched into their own alcoholic beverage brands: "I wonder if George Clooney would be asked about Puff Daddy’s ancillary liquor line."

People love to poke fun at Gwyneth, but I think she's actually made a good point. I do think ambitious women get lumped together and compared to one another more so than men.

I'm not sure why this is the case, but if I had to guess, it's that there's the perception that ambitious women are a rarity. Well, in my mind, they're not! I think it's just more that they're represented that way -- which is insulting and just not true.

Good for Gwyneth for not letting this little bias slide by unnoticed.

Do you think ambitious women get lumped together, and is this a bad thing?
