Princess Charlotte's Christening Will Have a Very Special Connection to Princess Diana

Kensington Palace revealed on Friday that a date has been set for Princess Charlotte's christening. The Duke and Duchess' newest family member will be christened on Sunday, July 5 at Magdalene Church in Sandringham. Charlotte is being baptized at a different church than her older brother, the adorable Prince George, whose christening took place at the Chapel Royal at St James' Palace in London.

It's a bit of a surprise that William and Kate are baptizing their kids at separate churches, but there's a little something special that's happening with Charlotte's christening: It's at the same church Princess Diana was baptized.

It hasn't been revealed what the ceremony will be like or who will be in attendance, but it's likely that, as with Prince George's baptism, it will be on the smaller and more intimate side. William and Kate aren't exactly known to be over-the-top kind of people.

More From The Stir: Quiz: How Well Do You Know Kate Middleton?

The Duke and Duchess have been spending all of their time lately at their Anmer Hall home in the country, so it isn't a huge surprise that they've chosen to have the christening there, as well -- and it's so sweet that it will be at the same church Princess Diana was baptized. Charlotte and her late grandma will have such a beautiful connection. In addition to the christening location, one of Charlotte's middle names is Diana. Love that.

It has to feel so good to Prince William to be able to honor his mother and make her a part of things in this kind of way. It's heartbreaking that she's not here to experience all of these wonderful moments in her children's lives, but with little things like this, she can be there in spirit.

Are you happy they chose to honor Princess Diana this way?
