Khloe Kardashian Sparks Outrage With 'Offensive' Selfie From Dubai

It's not uncommon for Khloe Kardashian's fashion choices to spark a lot of debate on the Internet. After all, the Kardashian sisters have made turning heads in barely there ensembles an art form of sorts. But on Tuesday, Khloe triggered an Instagram outcry of epic proportions for what she was wearing in a photo, rather than what she wasn't.

In a seemingly innocent Insta post, Khloe is posing wearing a niqab and hijab, traditional clothing worn by Muslim women to cover their head and face. She's currently visiting Dubai, so it makes sense that she would attempt to honor the community's conservative dress by donning a similar wardrobe.

Captioning the pic "Habibi Love," Khloe was probably not prepared for the onslaught of anger and criticism it incited.

One commenter cried:

You shouldn't wear a niqab as a fashion accessory. You should not make anything that's cultural or religious your fashion accessory.

Fair enough, but who says that's what Khloe is doing?

She is currently in a place where this is the customary dress, and I am fairly certain that if Khloe instead wore cut-offs and a crop top, there would be similar backlash from the haters criticizing her for not respecting the culture. In essence, cut the woman some slack, people!

Instead of going on the attack, why not use this as an opportunity to educate people about how women in this country who wear traditional Muslim dress are being treated? Teach people to bring their education level up instead of spreading more hate, otherwise your voice won't be heard or respected.

What's next? Would Scott Disick be lambasted if he wore a kilt in Scotland?

Everyone needs to settle down and use this as a teachable moment, not another reason to go on the attack.

And to create a new sense of calm, check out this adorable photo of Khloe and a giraffe named Henry.

Now if that doesn't give you the warm fuzzies, nothing will.

Do you think Khloe meant any harm by wearing a niqab?
