Alan Thicke's Sex Life Secret Really Grossed Out Son Robin (and Us)

I'm sorry to have to tell you this, because it will probably ruin any good memories you have of Growing Pains (and quite possibly your entire day), but former TV dad Alan Thicke has made a shocking revelation about his sex life: The 68-year-old singer/actor and his 40-year-old wife, Callau, get it on to the sound of son Robin Thicke's music. Whoa! Forget blurred lines, that's a line we want erased completely!

In an interview with US Weekly that went horribly, horribly awry, the elder Thicke and his wife inexlplicably got on the topic of their bedroom habits (why, God, why?!), and Callau dropped the following bombshell:

"When we do get freaky, we love [Robin's song] 'Sex Therapy.' You have to admit, it's a great song to get in the mood."

Look lady, maybe "Sex Therapy" was a great song to get in the mood for somebody at some point, but it never will be again -- thanks to you and a certain oversharing sitcom dad! I'll be honest, the most physical contact I'm comfortable imagining Alan Thicke having with anyone is a one-armed hug, and the only appropriate background music would of course be the Growing Pains theme song, but even that's a stretch. As far as I'm concerned, the man's image should forever remain that of a good-natured (if slightly clueless) father-of-three who never actually has sex with anybody, let alone while his own son's music plays.

The public admission was even too much for the notoriously un-prudish Robin Thicke to handle. On Thursday, the appalled singer tweeted:

"Dad, I heard what you said to @usweekly ... I need you to give back all of my music. Immediately. @Alan_Thicke"

Yeah, I'm with you on this one dude. Not saying romance is anything to be ashamed of, but there are some things that should stay behind closed doors. Actually there are some things that should never happen behind closed doors, or open doors, or anywhere at all. Sheesh, Alan, it's not like there aren't literally a zillion other songs to choose from!! As a child of the 80's who watched a LOT of TV, I'm not sure I'll ever be able to look at Alan Thicke the same way again. Sharin' the laughter and love, indeed!

What do you think of Alan Thicke's bedroom confidential?
