Katie Holmes' 'Relationship' With Jamie Foxx Did Not Go Over Well With His Girlfriend

Have you heard the rumors that Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes are a thing? Yup, apparently they're one of Hollywood's hottest new couples ... and according to Foxx, it's a rumor that's actually been hurting his relationship with his real girlfriend.

Holmes and Foxx were linked back in 2013, and the gossip reignited this past March when the two were snapped holding hands. They were collaborating on an animated project at the time, but Foxx insisted in an interview with Dish Nation this Monday that they're friends and nothing more.

"No, we’re not dating," the Annie actor proclaimed of his relationship with Holmes. "I'm not the person who wants to be defined by anybody I date. So, even if I was dating someone, no one would know anyway. But it affects my situation because I got a girl who’s like, 'Yo, who's this [expletive]?'"

Whoops! Hopefully this lady is the understanding kind, who knows that gossip is just gossip.

Foxx continued, "The second time [the rumors] happened ... we get together to do an animation thing and then somebody flips a picture to make it seem like we're holding hands. I said, 'If it was a real relationship, why didn't they just get that? Why didn't they get us kissing?'"

It's true, there does seem to be a photo of them holding hands, but who knows what was happening? They could've been shaking over something, or talking as friends and just giving a quick reassuring squeeze ... I mean, they are friends.

Foxx said of the Dawson's Creek alum, "She's a good friend of mine ... Katie Holmes and I had seen each other in the Hamptons, we did this charity thing and she comes on stage and dances with me, along with other people, and for some reason this story takes off."

Isn't that the way it goes with celebs though? Two people are spotted together and everyone jumps on the potential romance. But Foxx makes a good point that even though they're famous, they're still just people with their own lives ... and speculating about their lives should be just that -- speculation. Reporting things as facts without confirmation is just bad news, for everyone involved.
