Well, this certainly was inevitable. On Sunday's upcoming episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Khloe Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner have a heart-to-heart about the current state of their relationship. And, as any KUWTK fan knows, this has been a long time coming for these two.

Shortly after Caitlyn debuted her transitioned self on the cover of Vanity Fair, there was tension between her and the Kardashians. The reason didn't seem to be because she transitioned necessarily, but instead because of how she spoke about her ex-wife, Kris Jenner, in the article. "All Caitlyn can talk about is that my mom mistreated her and was awful and all these really rude things, when there's no reason to bash my mom," Kim Kardashian said on KUWTK shortly after the article came out.

So, not surprisingly, there was tension between Caitlyn and Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, and Rob when she transitioned -- and equally unsurprisingly, Khloe was the most outspoken of the bunch.

In the clip, Caitlyn confronts Khloe about the state of their relationship. Over a glass of wine at Khloe's home, Caitlyn asks her daughter what she did wrong. "I just really feel like over the last year and a half we certainly have grown apart," Cait says. "Day after day after month after month, nobody calls, nobody checks in. Just, 'Hey, how are you doing?' You can't help but sit there and think, 'Okay, is it because I transitioned? They don't like me anymore?' I want to know what I did wrong, what I didn't do wrong, what I did right, and move forward."

Khloe tells Caitlyn that she didn't necessarily do anything wrong, but things are just ... weird. Also, Khloe was at a trying time in her own life when Caitlyn transitioned. "'Cause I don't know if just because you didn't do something the way maybe I would have preferred that makes it wrong," Khloe says. "In this family we deal with things very quickly. We don't have time to really process a lot of things because we're always on to the next and for me, at the time, I just wasn't at a place in my life where I really could invest in new relationships." Khloe also reveals that she felt bad for her mother after the Vanity Fair interview.

Ultimately, Caitlyn just wants to be back in the girls' lives, but Khloe admits that things are very different now. "That's 23 years of my life invested in the family and you," Caitlyn tells Khloe, to which Khloe says, "For me, you're all I remember -- Bruce was. So not having you in my life, it's a huge blow because I'm like okay, my second dad, this guy that I've grown up with, that raised me, was taken away from me. But no one really let me have that."

From the looks of things, the girls still aren't back to where they once were, but things are definitely looking up. Their relationship may never go back to "normal," but hopefully, with a little time, they can be a part of each other's lives a little more.
