Kate Middleton's Touching Way of Making Sure Her Kids 'Know' Princess Diana

Princess Diana never got a chance to meet her grandchildren (or even their mother), but that doesn't mean that Prince George and his new little sibling won't be able to keep her memory alive. According to an inside source, Kate Middleton is collecting momentos of Diana's to give to her children.

The source revealed to OKMagazine, "It's kind of like a dowry or hope chest and has things in there that the boys have kept from when their mother was alive."

Apparently, it was all Kate's idea too! The source continued, "She's still her babies' grandmother and wants them to understand just how special she was to the world."

It is truly tragic that Diana never got to dote on her grandchildren, because I bet she would've been an amazing Nana. Can anyone else picture Carole Middleton and Princess Di playing with George together? None of that stuffy stuff allowed during Grandma time!

Even though the royal tots won't get that opportunity, they will know all about their celebrated grandmother. The chest will include jewelry and letters that belonged to Di, along with "photos and even recorded tapes that Diana used to make for the boys when she was away on royal duties."

The Duchess is predicted to have a girl, and while most bets are with Alice for the name, this insider revealed that Will and Kate want to name their daughter Diana. They said that William "never saw his mom as a royal figure -- she was just his mom, and she adored him and his brother. He had such a happy childhood, and that was all due to her."

The source continued, "Having a baby girl who carried her name will be a beautiful reminder of Diana every time he looks at his daughter."

Even if they don't end up naming her after her grandmother (or have a boy!), there's no doubt that Will and Kate's children will grow up knowing how special Di was to the world.

Do you think Kate Middleton will name her baby Diana if it's a girl?
